Big Shotz is finally open! [Sep. 18th, 2006|11:49 am]
I know I've been out of touch from ya'll for a few weeks. I'm sorry about that but I've been burning the candle at both ends.

I've had class all morning and work all night for the past two weeks. We did our investor parties and VIP parties this weekend and got our butts kicked but the doors are finally opened to the public as of 4 o'clock pm today! I am not working tonight (thank goodness) but I am working Wednesday night, Thursday night, Friday night, and Saturday night so feel free to come see me at the bar. Expect long waits for food but not for drinks and be patient with our 'green' staff.

I guess you want to know where it is huh?

I am bartending at Big Shotz Tavern in Clemmons NC.
Phone: 336-712-1883
Fax: 336-712-0204
1480 River Ridge Drive
Clemmons, NC 27012
(http://bigshotztavern.com/)

There really isn't much on the website yet but keep checking back and we will get it updated as we have time.

Expect a $8-$19 price point. Most things are reasonably priced at around $14-$16 for entrees and $6-$9 for sandwiches. We have a lot of different flavors going on, everything from asian to southwest to cajun to key west! I've tried about 90% of the menu and it is awesome!

We have 14 beers on tap including Old Dominion Root Beer for the non drinkers and our very own Big Shotz Tavern Ale created especially for us by Highland Brewery out of Asheville. We have a specialty drink menu with a few special martini's, one in particular with bleu cheese stuffed olives that is a favorite amoungst the dirty martini drinkers.

So if you can't make it out this week then please come see me soon!

Last nights ruckus. [Jul. 17th, 2006|02:12 am]
So last night was the owner of my place of work's 50th birthday. The crew decided she needed to be picked up in a stretch navigator and whisked to Harris Teeter to buy champagne.

No wait, we were supposed to whisking her to Much for a birthday bash but got side tracked due to the fact that between the 7 of us we downed 3 bottles of Champagne before we got out of Irving Park. So after a brief stop off at Jimmy's house (just don't ask) we headed to the Taj Ma Teeter to grab a few more bottles to tide us over till we got downtown. We barely made it...

I didn't quite realize how tipsy I had become until I attempted to exit the vehicle. Poor Felix had a time getting us in and out of the monstrosity. I'm sure he was glad to be rid of us.

Once we hit Much it was time to cut the cake.

The cake never actually got cut by the way, but it did get eaten. We a just grabbed plastic forks and kinda picked at it all night long. We are classy bunch you see...

The rest of the night is a vivid blur. Chapagne is one of those things that really should be drank at the end of an evening not the beginning. It is also a rather devilish alcohol. You don't realize that you've even had a sip until you attempt to stand up or function in any other capacity than to sit there demurely sipping. I told you all that I had quit drinking, and I really had. I only had a few at home amoungst friends. But after I was already tipsy, with a ride and place to stay locally, why not let the chips the fall where they may. And they fell, on the concrete staircase on the corner of Market and Greene street downtown.

Well we didn't actually fall, more like took a break. Elena needed to smoke and I needed to get out of those heels. But we never really got up from there. The tragic thing was it was only about 11:30pm and we had been sufficiently trashed and already drinking water for about an hour. Yes folks we would have slept on those steps if it wasn't for one of our dearly beloved co-workers wandering by. Dear sweet Evelyn had made it out to the celebration with her husband and graciously agreed to take Elena and I home. There was only a minor problem, Elena wouldn't tell us where she lived and I didn't know how to get there either. Miraculously, my phone rang and it was the beloved but missing from the debauchery, Christy! Christy told Evelyn how to get us home and we made it in one peice and were in the bed by 12:30am. Ah to be young again...

Eyebrow maintience [Jun. 18th, 2006|06:42 pm]
In addition to my 'things that get on my nerves' thing I post a few weeks ago, I would like to add unkempt eyebrows. There is nothing worse than looking at someones pictures and seeing all the effort they went to to make themselves look 'hot' and see these big ol' wooly eyebrows. For goodness sakes people, it's not the 80's anymore; even Brooke Sheilds gets those suckers waxed!

Hit me with your best shot... [Jun. 16th, 2006|09:36 pm]
So I was off work today and I went in to get my check.
Christy called me over to her desk and informed me that Pat Benetar got a her nails done there. The one day I don't work and something exciting actually happens other than Traci screwing up. Dang it. Apparently I'm the one that made her appointment. I talked to Pat Benetar on the phone the other day and didn't even know it. wow.

pet peeves and other things that bother me [Jun. 13th, 2006|01:14 pm]
I guess everyone has their quirks that bother each other. I have a few that just down right make my skin crawl.

1. Yellow teeth. I absolutely detest yellow teeth, especially yellow teeth in pictures. What the heck is wrong with you that you can't get some whitening toothpaste or possibly some Crest White Strips?!?!

2. I have this intense fear of licking wood and/or paper. I know this sounds weird and I don't really know that it's a 'fear' per se. I don't really know how to explain it. But I have accidentally licked the wooden sticks that you use to stir your coffee and now I get that feeling on my tongue constantly when I come anywhere near anything that is used for cooking or mixing that is paper or wooden, like wooden spoons or paper plates. It really really really freaks me out.

3. People who always complain about their dining out experience. Basically the women who totally just have a straight up attitude in restaurants and think it is their servers responsibility to drop everything and pay attention to their whiny, miserable lives. Yea. Those people.

4. People who hate anything that is popular or who think bands have 'sold out' because they have a hit record. Come on people, the whole goal of being a musician is to actually be a musician. So if they suddenly gain popularity and start to make money at their art then why not be happy for them? geez.

Calling all computer guru's. [Jun. 13th, 2006|12:13 pm]
I just bought a new computer (well actually I made Eric buy me one because he crashed mine) and now I can't transfer my Ipod to this one. Does anyone know of a way to get my songs on this computer so that I can just re-upload them when I have to reformat my Ipod upon plugging it into the new puter?

Downloading software to do it crashed my hardrive on my old pc i think. I downloaded an Ipod to Ipod program and a virtual ipod program to back things up on my pc. If I could just come up with some kinda way to burn my songs off my ipod on to cd or to put them on some sort of external device so that I can import them on to the new pc i should be ok. then i can re-format and upload them again without having to download them.

yea and everyone keeps saying 'there has to be a way' but no one can seem to find the way. One of you has to know somebody who can help me. Or at least help me get my old one up and running so I can use it as a dedicated Ipod station.

My hair stylist is better than yours! [Jun. 8th, 2006|06:42 pm]
So today I went April's salon and got my hair did.
She made me purty so I fed her at The Brick Oven.
Don't your wish your stylist was hot like mine?

Oh and here is the new doo:

What the? [Jun. 7th, 2006|11:34 pm]
My Super Sweet Sixteen on MTV is proof that we are creating a nation of idiots. The sad thing is that kids on the show have no concept of reality and their parents are encouraging this behavior.

And Scotti Hall aka, very scary:

So the show was great and Tomie and I had loads of fun making fun of people and getting hit on by old guys.

(no subject) [May. 31st, 2006|08:09 pm]
There is nothing better in the world than having a day off and realizing that you cleaned your house the day before!

We got the home theatre hooked up fully and pictures on the walls this weekend. You would not believe the amount of work we did this weekend! I moved my entire life into his and we meshed fabulously! I simply can't believe that I got everything unpacked and organized! We still have some construction to do and some painting, but man it feels good to be settled. Completely settled.

The finished office, just needs paint and a mirror over the loveseat. Any ideas on paint colors?

Guest bedroom finished again except for paint. Ideas on this one?

Home Theatre seating, boys will be proud...

Play room. Anybody up for a game of Pool or Darts?

Even Hasselhoff shed tears! [May. 24th, 2006|10:08 pm]
[mood |geeky]

Yes that's right folks David frickin' Hasselhoff was tearing up at the announcement of TAYLOR HICKS as our American Idol! I always knew he was the Idol and have stood by him despite the taunting from friends. This just goes to prove even further that I rock. Back in the beginning they asked Taylor if he was having fun. He simply said, "its all about the music". I was totally impressed and fell head over heels at that moment.

So if you missed the finale you missed the greatest finale in the history of finales. They got PRINCE! YES, REALLY PRINCE! I'm talking Toni Braxton, Dionne Warwick, Mary J. Blige, Al Gerow, Live, Meatloaf and CLAY AIKEN! I heart him! He looked and sounded amazing singing the Elton John classic, "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me". Love Love Love Love him!

I found it very appropriate that they would pair Katherine McPukeface up with the overly dramatic Meatloaf. I absolutely loved the Mary J duet with Elliot! Paris rocked it out with Al Gerow too!

The 'Brokenote Mountain' skit was really cute! I'm sure it will be online soon. I about peed my pants at the 'male bonding' montage with Ace and Chris! That was sooooo funny!

I think my favorite part was Taylor playing the harmonica. That man rocks. Even Simon stood up for him! IT is undeniable. Taylor is the bomb.

This blew all of my expectations out of the water. I have actually never watched a whole season of American Idol and I've never seen a finale. I'm glad this was my first. I think I have lost my voice from screaming so loud and if my TV wasn't in the basement I'm sure the neighbors would have called the cops thinking I was being raped and pillaged!

I am a proud American Idol fan, dang it. Look out Idols cause on July 30th I'm gonna be in the Coliseum wearing a Soul Patrol t-shirt and screaming my fricken head off!

IF EVER I NEEDED YOU, NOW IS THE TIME! [May. 22nd, 2006|12:15 am]
I know I'm needY. But I realize my character flaws and try to compensate when I can. I also give into everyone elses character flaws and roll with em.

So this being said, I need people to help me. I need someone with great organizational skills to come to my house and help me organize. I am really great with putting things where they go. And I'm really great with keeping things in the place they are supposed to be. But I have NO idea where those places should be. I have this huge house with all these closets and cabinets and rooms and crap and don't know where anything should go.

I also need people who can help me put things away. Once the organizer has told us where they should go, I need people to help me get things into those places.

I also need people to tell me what I need and don't need. I am a recovering pack rat and I've made great strides in my life to get rid of the rubbish. I need someone to help me determine what is and isn't rubbish.

I also need a personal trainer/motivator to help me get my health in order. My body is shutting down and my clothes are just saying no to my body. I have the desire to make healthy lifestyle changes and the money, I just need someone to tell me how and when to do said changes. I really really really want to play volley ball and basket ball again. I am craving it. But I can't do any of those things yet because I can barely walk up a flight of steps without getting winded. Help me someone please!

For those of you that would like to apply for any of these positions, please messege me, email me, and/or call me by tomorrow afternoon. I am attempting to get a small group together to head to the new house and get this crap in order. For those of you with the desire to help but inability to do so tomorrow are certainly welcome anytime next week. I'm off all day Tuesday and will really be needing some help, if for anything motivational help.

I'm fun to be around and I'll feed ya. i'll put some killer tunes on and dance around like an idiot for your enjoyment. I'll even let you play a few games of pool or darts if it calms ya down. Oh and what the heck, I may even make a few jello shots for you if you are really lucky...
And then we can see if we can figure out how to use the lawn mower and trim the beasty grass!

HELP A SISTA OUT!!!
